Does Hebrews 1:6 Teach the Trinity or Deity of Christ?

Hebrews 1:6

6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

Argument

Jesus is worshipped by the angels of God, and since one should only worship God (Deuteronomy 6:13, Matthew 4:10), this would be idolatry if Jesus were not God.

Response

Unitarians affirm that Jesus can be worshipped as the Messiah and Son of God, which is what is taking place in the verse in question. Notice that the verse does not say that the angels are worshipping Him because He is God, or for being God. Such worship of Jesus would be disallowed, and is never authorized in Scripture.

All worship and honor paid to the Son is, ultimately, "to the glory of God the Father" (Philippians 2:11), because it is the Father who created the Son, and exalted Him to His position.
